Joselinne's story. She graduated from high school & Super Teens Club in May 2017.
Spanish is my first language and school assignments were extremely hard. My parents tried to help me but they didn’t know English either. I remember the frustration I felt at not being able to understand the material and having no one to help me understand it. I joined Super kids Club in third grade and at 17 yrs. old now, I am extremely glad I made the decision to join. New Horizons has served as a motivator to believe in myself and excel educationally.
This program provided assistance with my homework and encouragement to succeed in everything I did. Thanks to this organization’s support and the tutors and volunteers that help keep this program alive, I am proud to say that I am a successful student with dreams a third grader would have never imagined. Thanks to the support of New Horizons I obtained straight A’s since fifth grade and throughout high school. Their dedication to my education has inspired me to participate in rigorous college classes. Without this program, I wouldn’t know of my potential.
We try to partner with another charity every year. This year, we've chosen New Horizons of Southwest Florida to work with for our show.
Please tell your friends and family - anyone you are selling tickets to - that if they bring any unused school supplies, or a $10 (or more) gift card to Race Trac, Publix, or Office Max to the New Horizons table on the concourse during the show, they will receive a free raffle ticket to put towards the basket of their choosing.
